Argus Training Academy (ATA)

• Class is a 2-Day Course Given from 8A – 2P on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Steps to Receive a CA-licensed Guard Card:

1. Guard Card Training – Take the initial 8-hour course covering powers to arrest and appropriate use of force.
    

2. Live Scan Background Check –  Complete a Live Scan form and get your fingerprints submitted to the FBI and DOJ by a Live Scan Operator for a background check.  You must bring a completed Live Scan form with you when you get your fingerprints taken.  ATA can provide the form during class, but it can also be obtained here.
    

3. State Registration – Complete guard card registration through the State of California.  ATA will help the applicant complete and file all paperwork related to the registration.

Class Provided:

• CA Guard Card & Guard Card Refresher Courses (8 Hours):  This is the introductory guard card instructional class incorporating powers to arrest and appropriate use of force training which was designed by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services as a prerequisite to applying for a guard card to work in the security business. 
   

  • ATA guard card training surpasses the state ordered contents to incorporate additional lessons we deem important for newly licensed guards to know when first posted on a job site, such as conflict resolution and elements of security host training.  
     

  • A certificate of completion is provided once the applicant successfully completes the class.
     

• Cost:  $199; all-inclusive price includes live scan and state application fees.
